Wardrobe: moving volume and packing

Wardrobe: 1.5 m³, 0.5 LDM. Empty it fully, tape the doors, pad the corners and slide it on a blanket.

A two-door wardrobe measures about 1.5 m³ and 0.5 load metres and is the item that most often blocks a stairwell. Empty it completely, because doors and shelves are not designed to carry load during transport. If the carcass can be dismantled, do so; otherwise tape the doors shut and slide it on a blanket.

How to pack

  1. Empty every shelf and drawer, then remove loose shelves and rails.
  2. Tape the doors shut in two directions and pad the corners.
  3. Slide the wardrobe on a blanket or dolly; never lift it by the doors.

For storage

Store upright and dry with the doors closed but not locked, so the frame does not twist.
